Duty plate and hoist control pendant on a test stand

Specification check

magna 1 ton chain hoist

A magna 1 ton chain hoist search usually hides open questions about duty, power and interfaces. This guide lists those questions so a substitute factory quote can be compared. It does not issue a compliance outcome, FEM class, or HMI duty stamp for this desk or for any plant.

Read duty as a buyer question, not a badge

Public hoist pages mention duty cycle, starts per hour and whether the motor is intended for infrequent maintenance lifts or a paced assembly station. Copy those axes into the RFQ. Do not treat a brochure class letter as a certificate held by 1 Ton Chain Hoist Sourcing.

If two factories return different duty letters, ask each one to restate lifts per hour, motor minutes per hour and the assumed load, using the same units.

Power remains a separate axis. Manual chain, single-phase electric, three-phase supply and shop air pressure are not ranked winners. They are options that follow the room. A magna 1 ton chain hoist style comparison still fails if one quote assumes 115 V and the other assumes 460 V three-phase without saying so.

Open specification choices

Nameplate capacity is the first number, not the last. Ask for the assumed load, attachment mass and how many lifts per hour the quoted duty used. A 1 ton plate with a long lift and an off-center jig is a different application than a 1 ton plate used twice a week in a maintenance bay.

Choose from available power and lifts per hour. Do not rank electric above manual as a universal better machine. If air is requested, write working pressure at the drop, not a generic “shop air” phrase.

Before accepting an alternative to a magna 1 ton chain hoist reference, verify hook-to-hook, chain size, pendant or radio control, trolley type and the document pack the factory will ship with that serial. A lower unit price that silently drops the trolley is not a verified alternative.

Comparison axes for a substitute quote
Axis Buyer writes Factory must restate
Rated capacity lb or kg plus attachment Same unit on the quoted model
Lift height ft or m, including 20 ft path if used Quoted chain length and hook-to-hook
Power V, phase, Hz or air pressure Motor or air motor as quoted
Duty cycle Lifts per hour and minutes per hour Duty letter only if defined on that line
Interface Hook, push trolley or motorized trolley Beam flange and travel included or excluded

Submit the brief so duty, power and interfaces stay on one requirement. No compliance certificate is issued from this form.
